AFI FEST presented by Audi begins with a bang tonight with the world premiere of J. EDGAR, director Clint Eastwood’s epic portrait of one of America’s most controversial figures. It’s the opening salvo for the 25th edition of Los Angeles’ longest running international film festival, bringing modern masters and emerging filmmakers to the heart of Hollywood with eight days of red carpet galas, special screenings, conversations and tributes.
ON THE RED CARPET
J. EDGAR explores the personal and public life of FBI head J. Edgar Hoover, who could distort the truth as easily as he upheld it during a life devoted to his own idea of justice, often swayed by the darker side of power.
At Grauman’s Chinese Theatre (6925 Hollywood Boulevard):
5:00 p.m. Press check-in
6:00 p.m. Red Carpet arrivals
7:00 p.m. Program begins
